| DELAWARE WAS HIGH , MUDDY AND WINDY . AFTER THE BIG RAIN WE HAD LAST NIGHT THE WATER LEVEL WAS UP WELL OVER THE BOATS RAMP DOCK 'IT WAS UNDER WATER ONLY THE YELLOW POLES STUCK UP ABOVE THE WATER. THE WATER TEMP WAS 60 DEG IT WAS 62 IN THE BAY WE FISHED. MY GUESS IS THAT MOST OF THE CATFISH WERE UP IN THE NEWLY FLOODED TIMBER ALONG THE SHORE LINE . SO WE HUGGED THE SHORE LINE AND CRISS CROSSED THE RIVER CHANNEL . WE GOT TWO IN TWO HOURS BOTH CAME ON THE WHITE ROD WITH YUP THE PLANER BOBBER ON IT. THAT'S BECAUSE IT COULD BE FISHED UP NEAR THE TREE LINE AS WE TROLLED ALONG THIS IS A SUPER TOOL FOR BIG CATFISHING. BUILD ONE AND SEE. |
| DELAWARE HAS BIG CATFISH AND BIG BAITS . THE SHAD WE GOT IN THE CAST NET WERE TWICE AS BIG AS THE ONES WE WERE GETTING AT ALUM CREEK BUT THERE DONT SEEM TO BE AS MANY SHAD AS IN ALUM CREEK LAKE. THAT PLACE YOU CAN TOSS A NET JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE AND CATCH SHAD. AT DELAWARE ITS HIT AND MISS. THE BIGGEST CHANNEL CAT I EVER CAUGHT CAME FROM DELAWARE. WE FISHED THE BAY OFF HORSESHOE RD AND COLE RD BACK NEAR THE WASHED OUT BRIDGE. THE FISH WERE WEST OF THE WASHED OUT BRIDGE IN 3 TO 5 FEET OF WATER. NEAR THE FLOODED TREES ALONG THE SHORE LINE. WHEN THE WATER LEVELS COME BACK TO NORMAL THE FLATS WHERE WE FISHED WILL BE FULL OF BIG CATFISH AGAIN. |
