| River catfishing ,jugging with planer bobbers-they work like jug fishing but its attached to your rod so when your planer bobber goes down you get to fight the catfish on your rod instead of chasing down a jug.-I got some nice channel cats 9-20-08-the cat fishing was good last night at the river-I got 6 channel catfish -heres one of the bigger cat fish on video - catfishing rivers at night . I used live and cut shad set 4 to 6 feet down.my lines were out 75 feet or so. A trolling motor powered the boat slowly at speeds less than 1 mph and drifted till the motion slowed then I would power the trolling motor till the planers started to spead our to the sides then stoped the motor and coasted till the mini jugs (planer bobbers)drifted back to the rear of the boat and the speed neared 0 mph. The catfish were feeding in 5 to 6 feet of water in the middle of the river- I found a flat that was 6 to 4 feet deep and the size of a foot ball field-the catfish were on top of the flat feeding on schools of shad . |
