| AS darkness settled in they kept getting bigger. The water temp was 67 deg and that fell to 61 deg by 10 pm. The water in the main part of the lake was 60 deg .. we went north from howard rd about 3 miles to Hogback rd area. All fish were let go to grow after we got their pic with a happy angler. All fish came from the warm flats near the main channel on cut shad on bobber rigs . One planer bobber and one straight bobber.two rods 11 fish 2 got away at boat side one was a good one other was a ok catfish: |
| My spin toss cast net throw. this is the first toss of the year and a new net too.Note the distance I get from the top of my cabin. That net just went 30 feet out from our boat. there is a link on this site that shows how to make a spin toss. With out this trick it would be hard to throw a net from a cabin boat let alone get it out 30 or more feet. just look at the way that net spred out man. |
| This cast only got one 7 inch shad. but the next toss got 6 and the one after that like 10 were in the net. when we had 21 nice size shad my first mate turned the boat north and we started prepairing the rods for catfishing. I rigged the planer bobber first because I just made this one and wanted to try it . All our lines were set 3 feet down and a shad cut in half tail off and hooked threw both eyes I used a small weight to keep the baits down because we drift all the time useing our trolling motor to control speed and direction. Our speed is less than a half mile per hour or slower. |

| Nice round landing and look at the distance the complete rope. thats a heavy net with extra weights too. and allways yell surprize just before it hits the water the kids love it |
