| catfishing,big catfish. APRIL 6 TH 2007 WE HIT ALUM CREEK .. IT WAS WINDY 20 KNOTS COLD MUDDY AND SUNNY. I USED A DRIFT SOCK AND MY TROLLING MOTOR TO WORK OUR PLANER BOBBERS WITH LIVE SHAD FOR A CHANGE . THE IDEA WAS THAT LIVE BAIT WOULD GET BIGGER FISH. OUR PLANER BOBBERS WERE PUT TO THE TEST TODAY. EACH PLANER WAS TIED WITH TWO HOOKS 3 FEET DOWN AND A QUARTER OZ WEIGHT WAS ADDED TO KEEP 2 LIVE 7 OR 8 INCH SHAD ON EACH BOBBER PULLING OUT TO THE SIDES. THE PORT PLANER GOT SMASHED AND WE GOT A 10 OR 12 POUND CHANNEL CATFISH AFTER A GOOD FIGHT. THEN THE STARBOARD PLANER BOBBER GOT DRILLED BY A 8 OR 9 POUND CHANNEL CATFISH. MY TROLLING MOTOR GOT BROKE BY A STUMP THE COLLAR SNAPPED AND THE MOTOR GOT LOSE AND WAS RUNNING UNDER WATER COOL MAN . I PULLED IT OUT AND TIED IT TO THE SWIM LADDER POLE. IT STILL WORKED AFTER ITS DIP IN ALUM CREEK . IT WAS COOL -IT WAS SPINNING IN CIRCLES UNDER WATER. WE GOT 6 OR 7 CHANNEL CATFISH 4 BIG ONES AND A FEW 3 POUNDERS . THIS WAS OUR THIRD CATFISHING TRIP OF THIS YEAR. |
